On Saturday December 12th, 2009 the entire Wamona Council came to MCA to donate food ( each family got a laundry basket and box full of goodies including fresh foods like milk, fruit, veggies and meat) and wrap gifts for 16 local families for Christmas this year.

Troops helped wrap the gifts and the families were overwhelmed with gratitude for the generosity of the Girls Scouts!

2009 April, almost $1,500 raised for cribs for clients at the Pregnancy Care Center!

Our Junior girl scout troop #1955 applied for a YAR (Youth as Resources) grant for Morgan County.  YAR is a division of the United Way. We identified a need at the local Pregnancy Care Center by taking a field trip to visit with the director Pam Adams.  She talked to the girls about what the Pregnancy Care Center does and the greatest need at this time is one of the most expensive baby items which is cribs! The troop members gave a presentation last month to the grant board and the board was very impressed with the level of research the girls did and awarded them the entire amount that they asked for!
